How do I make quick money as a teen?
I’m under 16 and unavailable to get a job; and rarely have permission to go out and do most things by myself. The only way im usually able to get around and hustle is in school , so what can I do?

Hi Geraldine,
It's great that you have such a business thinking in this age. No worries. You will have countless opportunities to make money over the years. I would recommend you to focus on your studies as well. Also, make time to consider your academic education if you are going to apply for a college. I emphasize this since to make money in the future, in many cases you will need to have completed an academic degree.
One more thing: Returning to earning, being a freelancer is a good option. If you have certain skills and can offer services, try to find online jobs which are available to teens as well.

When I was a teen I used to sell snacks in school. I would by them in Costco in a big pick and sell them individually
Thank you so much for the advice.

Talk to your school counselor to see if they know of any jobs either connected to school or nearby. While you won't earn money by volunteering, you can gain experience and recommendations for the future.
Perhaps neighbors might hire you for various tasks such as mowing lawns, raking leaves, childcare or misc. jobs. Create a flyer and distribute it in your neighborhood or via email.
If you really need quick money, you could take a look at what you own that you might be able to sell online.
With every good wish!

Hi Geraldine,
I had a similar need to make money when I was a teenager but too young to legally work. I did beta testing for websites which paid me in Amazon gift cards. I also signed up to do taste testing for a company and they paid me in Visa gift cards. Earning money online as a teenager is possible through various legitimate avenues, but it's essential to approach these opportunities responsibly. You can leverage your skills and interests to make money, such as freelancing on platforms like Upwork, offering tutoring services, or creating and selling digital products like art or crafts on platforms like Etsy. Content creation, through YouTube, blogging, or podcasting, is another option, but it often takes time to build a substantial income.
Participating in online surveys and market research, affiliate marketing, online reselling, and completing online gigs are additional methods to consider. However, it's crucial to be cautious and avoid scams, and always prioritize your safety online. Additionally, remember to balance your online earning activities with your schoolwork and other commitments to ensure a healthy and productive balance between work and personal life. Hope this helps!
