My son just did this and he used YouTube to help him.....he said it was great, and it really worked. He found people he liked how they taught and their study habits. He also ordered the SAT book so he could read through it. But I asked AI, and below is what it says....good luck!

This is an excellent question, Aarush, and you have gotten excellent advice. As a former tutor for standardized tests, I would like to add a few points:

1) Khan Academy, which is free and associated with the College Board, has recently enhanced its resources so I suggest that you check it out. You can also track your progress there.
2) To be successful, you need repeatable strategies, enough practice to encounter at least most kinds of problems, and test-taking stamina. For most people, that means buying a at least prep book, studying the strategies and doing the problems. And, as Angie says, analyzing your mistakes so you can learn from them.
3) Some students do better with accountability if they have at least some lessons with a tutor. Some offer shared lessons or online lessons that are more economical. But I would go with more well-known books / resources because their strategies are better tested over time, e.g., Barron's, Kaplan, etc.
4) Early in your preparation, you can practice 30 minutes to 60 minutes a time, but you should take a whole test in one sitting at least once before test day. We don't normally sit and concentrate for close to 4 hours so you may need to build up stamina.
If you have not already done so, also investigate the ACT test. Some like it better than the SAT and both are widely accepted.

Hi there! Khan academy is a great resource if you’re not looking to spend a lot on a preparation program. I would say no matter which route you go, practice tests will be your best friend! Take as many practice tests as you can and make sure you’re really following the time limits for the actual test. When you finish your practice test the most important part is seeing where you need to improve and practicing those skills. Knowing where you need to improve will help you immensely!
