Rick’s Answer

Great question. Lots of jobs that people go after pay very little like school teacher. Then there's jobs that pay a ton but might make you miserable like Dentist. My friend is a Doctor, she makes 400k, works crazy hours and recently resigned with nothing lined up.

There's no success without fulfillment. Mental health is more valuable than money. Figure out what you love doing, then look up how much it pays before considering to pursue it professionally. Keep your cost of living low until you figure out what you want to do. Once it's high, you will have trouble changing careers.

Prativa’s Answer

The career that pays the most can greatly differ based on various factors such as where you live, the industry you work in, your level of education and experience, and your personal preferences. Doctors and surgeons usually receive high paychecks due to the rigorous education and training they undergo. More specialized areas in medicine, such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, and radiology, are often associated with some of the top earnings in the medical field.

Dentists, who diagnose and treat dental problems, also earn impressive salaries, particularly those specializing in areas like oral and maxillofacial surgery. Pharmacists, who distribute medications and give healthcare advice, have competitive salaries, especially when working in hospitals or specialized pharmacy roles.

Lawyers can also earn a high income, particularly those who specialize in areas like corporate law, patent law, or medical malpractice.

Alex’s Answer

Good question, the best paying career is most likely dependent on how you define it. Is it money per time spent, is it money in the early years of your career, or long-term money once you gain experience.

Depending on your skill set there are many high-paying careers.

1. Doctors who are specialist can make a lot of money when they are the best in their field or if they invent something or run their own practice.
2. Real Estate Agents who are extremely well connected and make massive sums of money that are often reinvested in owning their own real estate.
3. Finance industry is notorious for being extremely high paid especially (a lot of this can come from a year-end bonus). Often this path requires a lot of long hours when people are early in their career.
4. Technology Engineers make a lot of money especially as they become an expert in one particular field after several years. Netflix recently made headlines with their extremely high paying artificial intelligence jobs.

The list can go on and on. At the end of the day, these careers are high-paying for those individuals who love it enough to put in the hard work to become the very best in their field. I’ve seen extremely wealthy individuals come up in fields ranging from education, architecture, beauty, social media, and more once they become regarded as a leader in their community and industry.

You got this!

Yisel’s Answer

Hi Veronica,

Your question is fantastic! Let's delve into it. The term 'career' is a comprehensive one, encompassing a person's educational journey, work-life, earnings, job roles, career progression, and more. On the other hand, a 'profession' refers to a particular activity where a person utilizes their knowledge and skills. So, a profession is a part of a career.

Here's a list of some remarkable professions and their median salaries:

1. Anesthesiologist: $208,000
2. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon: $208,000
3. Obstetrician: $208,000
4. Surgeon: $208,000
5. Orthodontist: $208,000
6. Physician: $208,000
7. Psychiatrist: $208,000
8. Nurse Anesthetist: $195,610
9. Pediatrician: $170,480
10. Pilot: $134,630

These are all incredible careers, but what sparks your interest? All the individuals pursuing these careers share a common trait: passion. They're not just in these fields for the impressive salaries, but because they genuinely love what they do, be it science, behavioral health, nursing, and so on.

I'd recommend that you take some time to jot down what you're passionate about. Then, explore whether there's a career that aligns with your interests and is tailor-made for Veronica.

I hope this helps clarify your query. Keep exploring and stay curious!
