Any suggestions?
How do you get over your fear of losing interests in your favorite subject? When I'm older I've always wanted to do something with science and tornados and I don't want any of that to go away. It's what I really enjoy.

Mackenzie, with a creative name like yours, you can surround the world with creativity. I'm wondering why you think you might lose interest in your passion. Have you seen someone do that? Whatever the reason, you might explore with meditative journaling what is bringing up this concern. Once you have journaled on this topic, you may have an answer to ease your concern. Or your concerns might need a listening ear.
I can tell you I have had four passions in my life: music, mental health, sports, and spirituality. I have pursued these passions in many ways and continue to pursue each one, but these passions have changed forms. For example, I love music and became a singer, songwriter, teacher of voice, piano, and guitar, actor. I created an album of original songs and performed in concerts, etc. Now I still love music, but I put my energy into supporting my daughter in her musical career. I still play my guitar and sing in my heart. My favorite thing to do is listen to my daughter in her solo work and with her band.
I am continuing to be a mental health counselor as long as I can hear and people want to talk to me. My love of sports has changed from softball to soccer to tennis to pickle ball. Due to physical changes, I have made adjustments. These are just a few examples. My income depended on music and then being a counselor. But I never let go of my passion.
So what I wish to tell you is that sometimes I took a break from my passions. I had to focus on other things. So you, too might have to change your focus and you may keep your passions on the back burner, so to speak. It's okay to rest. And most of the time, it's a necessity. My parting words to you are enjoy the ride, life's an adventure everyday!

Hi there, Mackenzie. Like you, I have always had great interest in the sciences, including meteorology. Over the years, my interest in science has remained strong, even though I do not work in the scientific field. I regularly watch television programs and read books and magazines that feed into that interest, and I talk to people who have similar interests. That helps me retain my enthusiasm about science. Even if you figure out later than you want to work in a different field, you can continue to follow and be fascinated by developments in the sciences.

Hey there, Mackenzie!
Keeping your passion for science and tornadoes alive is as simple as continuing to explore the topic on Google and YouTube. Remember, you're absolutely free to do so! Witnessing a tornado as it releases electrical discharges is truly a breathtaking experience. I recall a professor I admired in my youth who would always ask "why is it so?" during his demonstrations of electrical phenomena. His teachings sparked my journey into public speaking back in 1966. If you're thrilled about your topic, don't hesitate to share it with others. Consider creating your own website as a platform to showcase your work. May the Almighty bless you, for He is truly powerful!
Sending you all the best,
Jim.
