What jobs are there in specifically science advocacy/outreach and public policy?
I want to pursue science, but I also want to contribute to bridging the current science-policy divide we're facing in America. Are there any careers that deal specifically with these issues? AAAS maybe?

A strong background in science is an advantage for you to advocate effectively and thoughtfully for progressive policies in technology space. For example, policies around data, cloud computing, digital payments, etc.
Hi Quynh, this doesn't directly answer the student's question. What career available in this field?

People with technical and science backgrounds are desperately needed in the world of public policy. Being that bridge is very important, and I recommend volunteering with a local campaign or effort to support the kind of supportive and scientifically sound policies you want to see. Major organizations like AAAS and big professional organizations for various disciplines will have internships. You can also intern in an office on Capitol Hill with member of the House or Senate you support. Other groups like Union of Concerned Scientists, National Institute of Health, and museums have government relations/policy groups as well. Maybe after a little experience you would also consider running for office? 314 Action is all about Aunt to the number of scientists in office.
I hope that helps!
