Hello George,
You can do what you have to do in your career. If you have already experienced volunteering and/or internship, you already gained soft and hard skills as well as emotional intelligence. If you have not done yet, welcome to your career journey. You path your way, and you must listen to your heart, and follow your gut. Your journey start with extracurricular activities: clubs with project(s), volunteering, and more. You should have your career plan in order to have a rewarding experience in your career. In your plan, you should include your interests, your major, your application (CV/Resume and/or Cover Letter) and application process (interviews, and a group work), and your willingly desire to work. During your academic year, volunteering and/or internships is/are the best thing you can do, yet you can do extracurricular activity: club with project (Enactus for instance). If you are graduated from the high school or the university, you should have a fruitful experience after any of these.
I hope this helps

Hi George
You have some great advice from other mentors to get you started on your career journey search. To add on to their guidance, I suggest that you consider gaining insight into your natural strengths and building your career search options from there. Starting with an understanding of what comes naturally to you will help define your true strengths and what skills are typically associated with those strengths. From there you can identify what interests you and how your strengths help build a sustainable career path. There are a number of assessments available. My favorite is StrengthsFinder. But, take your time to find the one that best suits your needs.
Best wishes as you begin this exciting search to establishing your career path.

Thank you for your question. Many students have similar question. In fact, you are the best person to answer this question. You have to identify what career you have interest first.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest, e.g. your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc. and identify the related careers
E.g. If you like maths, would you like to be an accountant, banker, engineer, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc.
If you have interest in music, would you consider to be a musician, singer, music composer, musical artist, music producer, etc.
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counsellor, your parents, etc.
4. Shortlist 1-2 career you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in the college
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
