Jason’s Answer

I believe that college can be important because it allows people to dig deep into an area(or areas) that they are interested. Grade school provides a well rounded but general education in many cases. College was the first time I felt I truly got the ability to pick subjects that interested me personally. This encouraged me to pursue other areas of specific interest both academically and in my personal life. I believe that the college experience overall can be very rewarding and great for ones self discovery and personal growth inside and outside of the classroom. For many of us it is the first time that we are away from home, making our own decisions, and dealing with the resulting consequences.

ShaRon’s Answer

Tiphanie,

Bottom line is that 2021 Bureau of Labor Statistics data saying that "someone with a college degree will earn $524 more per week, $27,000 more per year, and $1 million more over a lifetime than someone with only a high school diploma or less."

Depending on what you study that is the minimum disparity between college graduates and non college graduates! Often in many roles having a college degree increases your chance for advancement as many REQUIRE degrees to be part of leadership. Leadership roles usually have higher compensation, opportunity for profit sharing, and other financial benefits that will increase your earning potential.

Starting out, what I tell my children is that a degree gives you options! It is better to have it and not need it than to not have it and hit the glass ceiling early in your career. That could lead to burn out and a lifetime of financial struggles.

Good Luck!

Robert’s Answer

College is important for several reasons:

1. Education: College provides a structured environment for in-depth learning in specific fields, equipping students with knowledge and skills relevant to their chosen career paths.

2. Career Opportunities: Many professions require a college degree as a minimum qualification, and having a degree can significantly expand job prospects and earning potential.

3. Personal Growth: College fosters personal development by exposing students to diverse ideas, cultures, and experiences, helping them become more well-rounded individuals.

4. Networking: College offers opportunities to build valuable connections with professors, peers, and alumni, which can be beneficial for future career opportunities.

5. Specialization: It allows students to specialize in their areas of interest and gain expertise that may not be available through high school education alone.

6. Critical Thinking: College encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, which are valuable in various aspects of life.

7. Research and Innovation: Colleges often contribute to research and innovation, driving advancements in science, technology, and other fields.

However, it's worth noting that college is not the only path to success, and its importance can vary depending on one's goals and circumstances. Some careers and entrepreneurial endeavors may not require a traditional college degree, and alternative paths such as vocational training or entrepreneurship can also lead to success. Ultimately, the decision to attend college should align with individual aspirations and career objectives.

Enise’s Answer

Hello Tiphanie,

Why college is so important?

A college is a significant approach due to learning and acknowledging new topics, new exciting and a splendid things in your life. Even if you do not enjoy learning, you can watch whatever you want related to a topic that is discussed. Or you can read books about a topic which you can be a learner who can be a lecturer in order to teach students in college. I believe you do not like being at the college due to discipline and not enjoyable place that you learn from. You should find out how you can learn from it as I mentioned, and how you can pay attention to a topic that you loved the most, not everything yet you should find the less interesting topic that should be enjoyable with films, books, documentary, or whatever it is! You should develop yourself in a way that you will be confident and satisfied by yourself. If you are not an independent learner, you can find a group that you enjoy being around with them, and surround yourself with the group you will love being with them.

I hope this helps.
