Hey there, Izzy!
If you're 14 and looking to get your worker's permit, there's a certain process you'll need to follow according to your state's labor department. Here's a friendly breakdown of the steps you'll likely need to take:
a. Check If You're Eligible: Before anything else, make sure you're old enough and meet any other criteria your state has for getting a worker's permit.
b. Secure a Job Offer: In most cases, you'll need to have a job offer in hand before you can apply for your permit.
c. Fill Out the Necessary Forms: You'll probably need to complete an application form for your worker's permit. This form might ask for things like your personal details, what kind of work you'll be doing, and how many hours you'll be working.
d. Get Parental Consent: Depending on where you live, you might need your parents to be part of the application process.
e. Send in Your Application: Once you've filled out all the forms and got any signatures you need, send your application to the right place, usually your labor department or a similar government agency.
f. Wait for the Thumbs-Up: After you've sent in your application, you'll need to wait for it to be reviewed and approved. Once it's approved, you'll get your worker's permit, which will explain any rules or conditions about your job.
If you need more help or advice, here are some great places to look:
Reddit - r/teenagers: This subreddit is a great place for discussions about teenage life and job-related questions.
Quora: Quora is a treasure trove of questions and answers on a bunch of topics, including how to get a worker's permit if you're underage.
City-Data Forum: This forum is a great spot for advice on local rules and procedures, especially if you're from specific locations like South Bloomfield, OH.
TeenHelp: This site is all about helping teenagers, and it often has discussions on job opportunities and legal requirements for young workers in different states across the US.
May you be blessed with abundance!

Looks like there is an application that you, your parent/guardian and your prospective employer need to fill out and bring to you school. Take a look at the form and talk with a teacher or someone in the school office if you have any more specific questions.

Hello Izzy,
Just to let you know, in Ohio, even young people like you, as young as 14, have the opportunity to work. However, if you're under 18, you'll need to secure a working permit, also referred to as an age and schooling certificate in Ohio, before you can start. It's important that your employer doesn't let you start without this document. Here's a link to Ohio.gov where you can find all the application details. You're on your way to a great start, Izzy. Good luck!
