I think the one area that effects success is your core values.
Especially in the values involving discipline and personal growth.
In order to achieve success you must be focused, persisent and consistent in the way you pursue your goals. Pursue your goals with a growth mindset, and keep at it. Things may not come immediately, but with practice and development, the skills you will need eventually come.
Personal growth is very important. You must be willing to look for opportunities, seize them when they appear, and utilize them to help you achieve success.
I have seen many people in my career, who have not sought out opportunities and ignored the ones that appeared in their lives. As a result, they never reached their full potential.
I think is was John Wooden who stated that "that you should not judge yourself by what you have achieved, but what you should have achieved with your ability."
So, always be looking for ways to improve your skills, because champions in life are always looking for ways to improve themselves.

Reality is what impacts your dreams. To be successful, you need to accept that some reality will happen. It may be that your grades are not as high as you had planned, causing you to change directions slightly. Or that your anticipated funding for college isn't as much as you want, causing you to possibly go to a different school or work part-time. To achieve your dreams, you need to be flexible and open to working through unexpected roadblocks--and one of the benefits you will encounter is that roadblocks to one direction will always open paths to new directions. Stay open, refine and adjust your dreams, and you will find success. I wish you well.

Achieving your dream is deeply rooted in what you believe you can accomplish. With this, you may encounter some obstacles that could hinder you from making your dream a reality. However, please don't let the obstacles throw you off course. Please keep these things in mind as you follow your dreams:
Your enthusiasm. Regardless of what others say about your dream, it's your dream. Pursue what you're passionate about.
Be resilient. You might come across obstacles and there might be moments when you feel like surrendering, but don't. The energy and dedication you invest in making your dream come true will be worthwhile.
The more you express your dream and immerse yourself in uplifting, positive interactions, others will see your genuine belief in your dream. This will gain support and ignite the drive within you to continue chasing your dream until it becomes a reality.
Here's to your success!

Angelica, there's 3 general factors that impact one's dreams. First, motivation is needed. In essence, passion must exist to drive your dream. Even if it's an inkling of interest, your inner motivation will automatically be sparked and this is the start to impacting your dreams. Definitely seek out guidance (like you are doing here on Career Village), find a mentor, etc. to help guide you and to help you shape that dream. The second and third factors are consistency and discipline. To win at your or any dream (remember wins can be big or small, any progress made in the direction of your dream is a WIN :), it's important to keep working at it. This is where consistency and discipline is super important, so that you can stay the path to achieving your dreams. Remember to leverage your resources like Career Village, mentor, etc. to also help you with remaining consistent and keeping you accountable.
Other factors that could also impact your dreams are societal, environmental, financial etc. Lucky for you, we live in a world where exploration is at our fingertips and finding resources to combat these other factors will help drive your motivation and create that win for you!

That's an excellent inquiry! This question is a common one that we all grapple with. I personally set milestones for myself every couple of years. In high school, I utilized a career assessment to identify my potential professional paths. This led me towards a career in Customer Service, a field I had already gained some experience in through part-time jobs during my high school years. My professional journey has always involved interacting with the public, and I find immense joy in assisting others.
I would encourage you to start by identifying what you genuinely love and are passionate about. Consider the activities that bring you joy in your everyday life. Reflect on the aspects of the world that you wish to improve.
It's time to start living your dreams. Consider how you can make a positive impact on the world around you. If you consistently work towards your dreams, taking small steps every day, you'll eventually achieve them. You may encounter hurdles along the way, but don't let them deter you. I've faced numerous challenges in my career, but I've managed to overcome them and sometimes even recalibrate my goals.
Remember, the world is your oyster and the opportunities are boundless! Keep dreaming, keep striving, and you'll surely make your mark.

Angelica,
Another factor that impacts one’s dream is experience. As you get older, have new experiences, and learn it is normal for dreams to change. It is important to allow yourself to develop. Hanging on to a childhood dream after getting to know yourself better may not be worthwhile. Also, your dreams may be different from your parents’ dreams for you. Satisfaction comes from balancing enjoyment with having enough money to support yourself and having aspirations to improve, in my opinion.
