Hello, Summer!

As a tech enthusiast, the potential to drive transformative change truly ignites my passion.

It's fascinating to observe how drastically the business landscape has evolved over the last decade, and even more so in recent years. The advent of technologies such as Social Media, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), 5G cellular networks, and numerous others have significantly reshaped our world.

Consider the evolution of the shopping experience. Once upon a time, people would physically visit stores just to get a glimpse of a product. Now, we heavily depend on online shopping, with platforms like Amazon at the forefront, to acquire what we need. The entire process of storing, shipping, and delivering goods is seamlessly facilitated by technology.

Change is the only constant in life, and technology serves as the bedrock for this change. It's thrilling to ponder where technology might lead us in the future! When you reflect on this, it's almost impossible not to feel a surge of passion.

I hope this perspective proves useful, and I appreciate your curiosity!

Eryn’s Answer

Hello Summer! Your question is fantastic and while it can be answered in countless ways, I'll share why I absolutely adore my job.

My journey into the tech world was unconventional. As a child, my curiosity for computers was discouraged, leading me to venture into various jobs, not careers. However, upon a friend's recommendation, recognizing my potential, I delved into technology. That was 17 years ago, and I'm forever indebted to him for steering me in this direction.

Working in technology is akin to solving a massive 3D jigsaw puzzle, where the goal is to find the smoothest and most efficient assembly method. It requires thoughtfulness, creativity, collaboration (since puzzles are always more fun with company!), and strategy. When you succeed, the sense of accomplishment is immense, as you've conquered a complex challenge. Unlike a puzzle, though, your hard work doesn't get packed away. Instead, you witness it grow, adapt, and flourish, becoming part of something dynamic. It might even influence others, your community, or the world at large.

Being in tech involves delving into the nitty-gritty of bits, bytes, components, and data, but it can also be a driving force for change.

In this industry, there's no room for stagnation. You're constantly learning, growing, and evolving. It's an exhilarating ride, making tech one of the most thrilling industries to be a part of.

I have been interested in technology for as long as I can remember, so a job in the tech industry was a natural fit for me. Nicole’s Answer

Thanks for asking this question!

I LOVE technology. We use it every day. It makes life easier for many of us. It's exciting to be a part of that world. It's challenging sometimes, we get to solve problems often.

I often tell people that we work on the future. Things that we know someone will need in the future, whether that's years or months away. So, the work changes all the time. It's fun to work in a place where we don't exactly do the same things every day.

And secretly I love designing systems and user experiences that people haven't imagined yet. This business has taught me that not everyone can imagine something they can't see and make it real. That's what this industry is good at. And companies will always need people who understand how to do that because not everyone can. I'm honored to be someone who works well in ambiguity to achieve physical results.

Juney’s Answer

As early as ~10 years of age, my group of childhood friends drew Heroes of Might & Magic meets Age of Empires maps on taped together piece of paper as our friend group devised our own rules for a makeshift game we could play in class. At 11, we got connected to the internet and I could play Neopets, after which I was quickly drawn in to creating scavenger hunts and events for the guilds I was part of. Starting university, I added in person events like networking events, game jams and conferences through my study society & game development club. Over time, these hobbies grew in scale & scope as I played games and developed seasonal events, in essence taking on the roles of Live Ops Producer, Community Builder / Developer / Manager, and Event Organiser.

I feel meaningfully rewarded enabling others on their own personal impact journey, and even more so when I challenge myself to keep learning outside of my comfort zone to become better at what I do. Creating spaces, supported by the latest technology, for others to engage, express and interact in ways comfortable & close to them is my happy place. Researching & leveraging the latest technology always plays a key role in delivering the best experiences.

Hello Summer,

I've always had a knack for solving puzzles and a deep-rooted fascination with technology. My journey with computers has been a lifelong adventure and it's something I truly cherish. I've never experienced a moment of exhaustion or dreaded the upcoming week.

The key is to discover a passion that ignites your spirit. When you find that special something you absolutely adore and are enthusiastic about, it doesn't feel like work anymore. It becomes a joyous journey. So remember, when you love what you do and do what you love, every day feels like a gift, not a chore. :)
