Andrew’s Answer

Mathematics is a language just like our natural language. It takes practice to perfect this language skill.

As far as steps are concerned, they are not to be resented because they pave the way for the answer for us to arrive at. Most of us are not mathematical geniuses who can just jump to the answer.

Be patient. Be willing to take small steps at the beginning of this journey to learn mathematical language. Gradually, you will get more and more proficient in this language, and you will be able to skip steps. When you are getting good at this language, you may not need too many steps to get to the answer.

How do we get better at this language? The answer is practice, practice, and practice. It is not unlike learning another foreign language.

Great Question!

Math in most of its forms and stages is usually based and structured on a series of steps and/or formulas. Take your time and be patient with yourself in understanding each individual step. I have found that most troubles arise when we do not fully understand the relationship from one step to the other. Take your time with each part of the process and do not hesitate to ask for help. Take advantage of the aid provided by teachers and tutors. Good luck! You got this!
