Mrinalini’s Answer

Hello Brian,

You've asked a fantastic and indeed, one of the most challenging questions. The answer largely depends on the specific role and skills the company is seeking. It's crucial to have a solid technical understanding, so make sure you're well-prepared in that aspect. However, keep in mind that about 70% of the process is about how you respond to scenario-based questions.

You need to demonstrate that you're a thinker, an innovator, and possess all the qualities that set you apart. I understand that it's tough, and it's even tougher to predict what response or action might sway the hiring team in your favor. But remember, confidence is key. Speak sincerely and from the heart.

Wishing you the very best!

Houcine’s Answer

Hello Brian,

In hiring for HVAC positions, companies typically seek individuals with technical proficiency, strong problem-solving skills, excellent customer service, attention to detail, and adaptability to new technologies. These values ensure effective installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. Related fields to consider include refrigeration technician, mechanical engineering, and roles in renewable energy for those interested in sustainable HVAC solutions. To understand hiring trends, research specific data for your region, but generally, the demand for HVAC professionals tends to be steady or may increase, especially with the growing focus on energy efficiency.

Best regards,
Houcine

Andrés’s Answer

Adding on to Jerome's answer, it might be different on the type of role. For the most part, most jobs have a component of collaboration. It will be important to show that you can work well with others in your team or other teams.
For HVAC jobs, it appears that job growth is at 6% over 10 years, which is higher than the average occupations. I would look into specific HVAC programs in your area, see which works for you.

Jerome’s Answer

I think universal qualities that I look for are a willingness to learn, demonstrated ability to do the work or at the very least a plan to get the skills needed to be successful. Showing that you have a passion for the position is beneficial.

If you can show that you are looking for a long-term role, that puts recruiters at ease since the cost of hiring is high.
