Hello Brianna,
It sounds as if you have your heart set on UVA - I will assume the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. The best course of action would be to visit the website and signup to speak with an Admissions Counselor - https://admission.virginia.edu/ or call the admissions office. Also, you may find some answers to your questions on their website.
An admissions counselor at the school can answer all your questions and possibly arrange for you to speak with or meet faculty within your area of interest. Also, it is always good to go for a campus tour. I would suggest in-person; however, UVA has a virtual campus tour on their website.
Regardless of the school in which you are interested, it is always good practice to contact the school if you have questions about their admissions process. This way, they will have your information and will be able to send you important information about attending school
I wish you all the best,
J

Hello Brianna,
GPA and Extracurriculars for UVA Admission:
To get into the University of Virginia (UVA), you will need a strong academic record, which includes a competitive GPA. UVA considers your high school GPA as one of the key factors in the admissions process. While there is no specific minimum GPA required for admission, most successful applicants have GPAs that are well above a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. However, it’s essential to note that GPA is just one part of the application, and UVA also values other aspects of your academic profile and personal achievements.
In addition to a solid GPA, UVA looks for students who have demonstrated involvement in extracurricular activities. This could include participation in sports, clubs, community service, leadership roles, internships, or any other activities that showcase your interests and talents outside of the classroom. Admissions officers at UVA seek well-rounded individuals who will contribute positively to the university community. Therefore, having a diverse range of extracurricular experiences can strengthen your application and make you a more competitive candidate for admission to UVA.
Career Aspects for UVA Admission:
While career-related experiences are not typically a requirement for undergraduate admission to UVA, they can still play a role in enhancing your application. If you have had internships, part-time jobs, or other work experiences that are relevant to your academic interests or demonstrate valuable skills, you can highlight these in your application. Such experiences can showcase your initiative, work ethic, and potential for success in college and beyond. However, it’s important to remember that academic performance and extracurricular involvement are usually given more weight in the admissions process compared to career-related experiences at the undergraduate level.
