Why is it that we have to complete all four years of high school?

I already have more than enough credits and I've taken all the necessary classes to graduate. So why?

Catherine’s Answer

It is hard to understand when you are going through high school. As you mature you understand that high school is a process of developing your mind to be open to new ideas and experiences. We only know what exposure to our environment has taught us. As we begin to open our minds to hear and experience from other persons view points we begin to mature our own to see what is important to ourselves. You may or may not use the English, history, and math from school however, it teaches you the beginnings of how to solve complex problems that create solutions. Have you ever thought I wonder how they know that? Perhaps, they did not but worked with a group of varied backgrounds brainstormed and developed the knowledge. High school is the beginning foundation for the process of solving problems. Business is really about solving problems, not necessarily being successful or rich as you may think about it today. How did they figure out how to.......go in space........cure illnesses.........create cloth for your shirt in mass.......build an engine? Solving complex problems. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Catherine recommends the following next steps:

Don't think about the subject, think about the bigger picture. How can I apply this process to solving complex issues.

It is important for a few reasons. First, it prepares you for the real world jobs by providing deadlines and grading you for your work. It also gets you used to working in groups as teams.

It's not about graduation it's about knowledge, it's said that true knowledge is knowing one's extent of ignorance.
You may think you learn for you to get the certificate but learn to get knowledge as education breeds confidence which in turns breeds hope and hope breeds peace so let's work for peace.

Beatrice’s Answer

I think it depends on your maturity level, and what your future goals are.
If you feel you are ready for the rigors of college without completing high school and you are admitted to college, then go for it. But if not, then I will advise that you complete high school so you can be totally ready for college which completing four years of high school helps by developing and nurturing leadership skills and discipline needed in college . This is because when you are in high school you are being prepared for the adult life of making choices without the help of your parents telling you what to do . It also gives you time to mature, though maturity does not come with age but experiences acquired in high school such as meeting deadline with assignments, waking up to attend classes on time and managing funds and other self management skills are developed.

Alex’s Answer

High-school isn't just about classes and credits. You get to spend lots of time with your friends, play sports, have fun, and learn and grow it lots of ways. High-school graduation is just a point in time, but how you make the most of your time before and after that is what's most important.

Think about the things you are eager to do after high-school, and find ways to start doing them now. Are you eager to take a class on a particular topic? Maybe you can find an online course or a book you can start now. Are you eager to meet new people and make new connections? Colleges often have social events, summer programs, and internships for high-school students, you might look into those.
