How will I be able to keep my time managed so I can be able to be more equipped to become a lawyer?

I'm an 8th grader and I'm 13 years old. My favorite class in school is English. I have skills in writing and time management. One of my hobbies is art, such as drawing.

Thank you comment icon Hi Kaylie: I agree with Dennis Breen's answer. It's great to contemplate what you want to be when you're young, but focus your efforts on enjoying the present -- your friends, sports or other extracurricular activities, and all the benefits of not having to "adult". If you're asking this question at your age, I suspect that you're already diligent and willing to work hard. Those are great assets if you do decide to become a lawyer. But keep your mind open; you never know what other interests or opportunities present themselves to you. Andrea Hewitt

DENNIS’s Answer

Kaylie: At this point I'd suggest you waste as much time as you can! Go out and enjoy life - you're a kid. Being old and responsible comes soon enough. Go out and play and have fun. Time management is important but youth is more important. The gifts of youth will last forever.

Kieran’s Answer

Time management is very important, especially as a lawyer. It is easy to become overwhelmed when you are working on multiple cases at once. Being organized well help you manage your time and you can find different tools/ways to help. Keeping a to-do list and setting aside times on a calendar for certain tasks (and prioritizing deadlines) are examples on how to manage your time. If you're working in a firm, you'll also likely have some support staff to help you.
