The best way to catch the market needs is to pay attention on both "hard" skills and "soft" skills. "Hard " skills may obsolete while “soft” skills will never. Hello Preya,
To align your career aspirations with current market demands and emerging trends in your field, start by conducting thorough research into industry developments, technology advancements, and evolving skill requirements. Engage in continuous learning through specialized courses, workshops, and certifications that are directly related to these trends. Networking plays a critical role, so actively participate in industry conferences, online forums, and professional groups to connect with thought leaders and peers who can provide insights and opportunities. Utilize tools like LinkedIn to follow companies and influencers that lead in your field, keeping you informed about new directions and opportunities. Finally, adaptability is key; be willing to pivot or evolve your focus as new trends and technologies emerge, ensuring your skills and knowledge remain relevant and competitive.

Hello Preya, kudos to you for beginning the conversation and asking the question. I’m unable to tell how much longer you have in regards to your studies, but I’m assuming you have time for the reflection and research. Today’s competitive global environment is shifting quickly, and as a result careers will potentially change. The key is to find a career that aligns with your personality type so that you can hone in on skills that you might already have. For example, customer service if you are the type of person that enjoys problem solving, and interacting with others. On the flip side, if you like working independently and enjoy research, you’d want to explore that field further. I’d encourage you to continue to lean into online information as there’s a wealth of it, talk to mentors that may be able to offer you targeted feedback on your specific interests. The fact that you’re researching already is a great start. Good luck to you!
