Rafael’s Answer

Based on your interest in being a doctor and your preference for a casual work environment that includes helping others, fast-paced, and involves public contact, pursuing a career in medicine could be a good fit for you. As a doctor, you would have the opportunity to provide medical care and support to patients, making a positive impact on their lives. The medical field can be fast-paced, especially in emergency departments or during surgeries, which can provide the level of excitement you desire. Additionally, doctors often interact with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals, allowing for significant public contact. Keep in mind that becoming a doctor requires a significant commitment of time, education, and training!

It sounds like healthcare would be a great fit for you! There are several professions within healthcare that fit the criteria you mentioned. Allied health positions might also be a good option such as physical, occupational or speech therapy. Just another idea to research to see if any of it interests you. Good luck!

Katie’s Answer

Agreed Brandee! Other healthcare professions to consider are Physician Assistant (PA) and Nurse Practitioner (NP). Both allow you to see patients, write prescriptions, and treat conditions with significantly less training and debt verses pursuing medical school. As a PA, I have the ability to work in multiple medical specialties throughout my career. That was a big selling point for me when choosing my career path.

Temitayo’s Answer

You sound like you already have a passion for helping people and that is one huge part of being a doctor. Amongst human interaction, it includes fast pace environments, a vast amount of knowledge and a very well respected career. So that's a win win in my books. You can do anything you put your mind to. Medical school will prepare you for what to come, that includes communication skills, prepare you for how to be up to date on the current climate/environment and how to show empathy for those you come across every day. It's not just a job, it's going to be a way of life that's incredibly rewarding.
