Absolutely, I'm on the same page as the previous post. When you're gearing up for culinary school, you'll need to stock up on 5 chef coats and chef pants. Don't forget to include white undershirts and perhaps a couple of neckerchiefs. However, there are two crucial items that I strongly recommend you splurge on. Invest in a top-notch pair of shoes and the comfiest socks you can find. I went years without a good pair of shoes and I now wish I hadn't. Trust me, your knees and ankles will be grateful in 20 years.

Certain cooking academies may furnish you with chef coats and trousers, but it's typically up to you to buy your own footwear. Make sure to invest in a high-quality pair of non-slip kitchen shoes - they're the most critical part of your uniform, safeguarding your feet, knees, and ankles. Don't forget to acquire a black marker for labeling, a pen, and a food-grade thermometer. If you're required to purchase your own chef jackets, opt for the long-sleeved ones. As a beginner, you'll appreciate the extra protection from burns and heat that the sleeves provide. One crucial rule to remember is to avoid wearing any jewelry in the kitchen, with the sole exception being a wedding ring. I learned this lesson the hard way when I got burnt by a necklace while cooking over a hot stove or grill. The metal can heat up and cause burns. Best of luck!
