Tiffanie’s Answer

Hi Melissa,

Thats a great question. Success can be defined as so many different things to different people. Success for me might look completely different to you. Perhaps success to you means becoming a director of a global company, but to me it might mean working for a company that provides a good work life balance.

First, I would understand what you mean by success. If you want to make a lot of money or become a CEO I'd start by reading books on how to be successful.

https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/learning/how-to-be-more-successful-best-books

Alot of these books will tell you about habits of successful people - starting with making your bed every morning. Atomic Habits is on my list of books to read.

If you get a free library card you get access to books via the library on your phone and via audio books, so many of these should be available to you for free. Or you can go to a used bookstore, OR facebook has many groups of book exchanges where individuals in your community will give away books.

And always, being positive and optimistic can never steer you wrong.

Liam’s Answer

There are many ways to achieve professional success, but a huge thing to keep in mind is your own behavior/demeanor. Maintain a professional attitude, and others will see you as a professional. This is, of course, just a part of what it takes as you also have to put in the work to become an expert in whatever field you choose to go into. Always be curious and ready to learn. Always be open to constructive feedback/criticism, do not take it personal, and be sure to implement that feedback. Always be ready to take on more, and put yourself out there! No one is going to create your path for you, so you have to seek out opportunities, make yourself known to others, and make your goals clear to your manager/supervisors as well. A lot of managers are willing to help you get where you want to be, but you must make your goals clear, put in the work to go above & beyond, and have open communication.
