who is the best designer?

designer tips

Thank you comment icon The question is too vague for an honest answer. As there are many different types of deign fields, and each one has its best designers that specialize in their design field. For instance one person may be the best in fashion design at the height of their career, where as another person maybe the best in their field of interior design or structural design as a structural engineer. And yet again you may have multiple people who are the best in automotive design, for their prospective employer. And none of those people maybe the best in graphical design as a within the gaming industry, yet still be the best designer in their field. So without being specific about the design field you are applying your question too, this maybe the best answer that answers your question honestly. Stephanie Stephen Turner

As a graphic designer, I firmly believe that some of the most talented designers in the field are Milton Glaser, Saul Bass, and Susan Kare. I recommend exploring their work or that of other designers and studying their design process, as it can help you improve your designs.

Michaela’s Answer

If you’re looking for the best design apps or softwares, Canva and Adobe are my favorites!

If you’re looking for reputable designers to follow, go to LinkedIn to follow some of your favorite brands’ design teams.

I also recommend looking into your favorite branded campaigns and researching which creative agencies they collaborate with. From there you can find designers who work there and follow them for inspiration.

Michaela recommends the following next steps:

Research favorite advertising campaigns
Research favorite creatives from brands like logos, ads, etc.
Research favorite agency and brand collaborations
Identify the creative teams and their designers to follow
Join creative or design focused groups to engage and expand your network

Hello, Paul, in my opinion, the best designer is the one capable of responding to the challenges of technological change and advancement. Nowadays, the use of Artificial Intelligence is usually of great help, even for people with little experience or who do not know about design. For this reason, the best designer overcomes these challenges and offers customized solutions to their clients.

Tashnim’s Answer

That's a tough question! There's no single "best" designer, as it really depends on what kind of design you're interested in.

Here are some of the most influential fashion designers of all time:

Coco Chanel: Pioneered a more relaxed and comfortable style for women
Christian Dior: Known for his luxurious and feminine designs
Yves Saint Laurent: Revolutionized women's fashion with his Le Smoking tuxedo suit
For a more contemporary list, you might look at designers like Tom Ford, Stella McCartney, or Donatella Versace.

Sweta’s Answer

Sure, there are loads of top-notch designers out there, each a master in their own field. But as a UX Designer myself, I'll give you my take from that angle. In my opinion, the cream of the crop designer is the one who really gets the users and the business side of things when crafting a product. They're the ones who prioritize how well something works over how it looks.

Alexa’s Answer

Hello Paul,

In my opinion, the true measure of a great designer lies not just in the visual appeal of their work, but in their ability to effectively solve communication and graphic challenges presented to them. Essentially, it's not always about creating the most visually stunning piece, but rather about achieving the best results in line with the goals set for the project.

On a more personal note, I absolutely enjoy exploring designs by artists like Hugh Syme. As a huge music enthusiast, his work really resonates with me. How about you, Paul? Is there a particular designer whose work you find inspiring or whose career path you admire?
