start doing karting and buy a steering wheel, the upfront investment its a little high but it will help you get better faster, for the sim i recommend asseto corsa competizione or asseto corsa (classic), and for the karting part, you can get very good deals of used ones in Facebook marketplace it will maybe need maintenance but its a good way to start cheap, afterwards you would want to go to your local races, i honestly do not recommend going to popular places where you rent a kart because those are limited they don't have as much power as a real kart and are expensive af
