Hello Kamden,

It's wonderful that you've set your sights on acquiring a degree in Sports Medicine. The next step would be to determine the specific role you aspire to play in the field of sports medicine. This realm encompasses a variety of professionals such as physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, nutritionists, and chiropractors. Each of these roles necessitates a higher degree beyond just a Sports Medicine degree. However, an undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine serves as an ideal stepping stone towards the pursuit of a higher degree, depending on your chosen profession.

As a Sports Medicine student, securing an internship with an athletic team at your university would be a beneficial move. This experience will offer you a firsthand view of how various sports medicine professionals interact with athletes and perform their roles. Additionally, you could consider reaching out to local sports medicine clinics to inquire about volunteer or shadowing opportunities. This would provide you with a deeper insight into the potential career paths available to you.

Your Sports Medicine course is likely to include a plethora of science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Excelling in these subjects is crucial. Don't hesitate to seek additional assistance from your professors and participate in study groups outside of class hours. These science subjects will lay the groundwork necessary for you to pursue a higher degree.
