Hello Jayden,

Union carpentry can align well with your values of money, creativity, and teamwork.

Money: According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median annual wage for carpenters was $48,330 in May 2020. This is higher than the median annual wage for all workers. Union carpenters may earn even more due to collective bargaining agreements that provide higher wages and benefits.

Creativity: Carpentry offers ample opportunities for creativity. Carpenters are involved in designing and constructing various structures using wood, such as buildings, bridges, and furniture. They use their problem-solving skills to create functional and aesthetically pleasing structures that meet clients’ needs and specifications.

Teamwork: Teamwork is an essential aspect of union carpentry. Union carpenters often work collaboratively on large construction projects alongside other tradespeople, such as electricians, plumbers, and ironworkers. They communicate effectively with each other to ensure that projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Lauren’s Answer

Hello there,

I believe you'd make a great union carpenter! This role seems to perfectly match your appreciation for earning well and expressing your creativity. Just a little heads-up though, carpentry isn't always about working in a team. There are times when specific skills are needed and tasks are designed for individuals rather than groups.
