Balancing both work and school is not the easiest tasks, I was a full-time graduate student and employee for 2.5 years. It was a lot of patience and understanding on my own part - had to be forgiving to myself when I did not have the best days.
For one, I would plan out the objectives and list the items you have full control on for the next few days/weeks. This could be work tasks, work-life balance, and taking time for homework and study time. Try to see what you can improve on and if you feel that you are 'wasting' time then maybe change how you are dedicating time to your work or school items.
Another tip is learning to delegate or share the responsibilities. By delegating work or homework, with a study group, you can break down each of your task to other. If you prefer to work alone, you can take one task and break it down to smaller tasks so it is not so overwhelming.
Finally, do not forget to enjoy the moment. The worst thing I did at the start was forgetting to enjoy the 'now'. This could mean going to get coffee with friends, go to the movies, treat yourself! You do not want to look back 5 years and tell yourself 'This was a waste of time, or I was miserable', because you have to remember you are trying to improve yourself so remember to keep your head up!

Time management is key to balancing work and school. In order to balance the two, you have to make sacrifices here and there. Make sure that the hours you work aren't taking away from all your study time. Occasionally, you may have to decline invites to social outings to catch up on school work, turn off the electronics, or stop other free time activities you may have. It would be smart to prioritize what's important, so things such as school work, extra curriculars/clubs, networking. In addition, it's important to be efficient with your time, which means not getting distracted by things like your phone or procrastinating. However, this does not mean that you should only focus on academics. It is important to relax here and there and have fun to unwind and relieve stress.

Avoid distractions and one practice I still follow is I put my phone on airplane mode or put it in dnd mode, I use to pause most of my entertainment related subscriptions when needed. You have to find a balance that works for you. For me, school was always my first priority. Work came second. I would recommend lowering your work hours during busy seasons of school (ex. finals) and increasing your hours during slow seasons (ex. breaks). It’s important to first decide which is most important to you and focus your time appropriately. However, there is no “one size fits all” situation. No one knows you better than you do, so I would recommend assessing what you can manage and give yourself grace. Working while in school overall is a great thing to do, and employers will appreciate the skills you are learning. Doing both shows how versatile you can be and how well you can manage the overall workload. Keep up the hard work!

Balancing work and school can be tough but definitely worth it if you can do it. You will finish up your degree and hopefully have relevant work experience when you go to look for your permanent role. To do this successfully, you need to be very disciplined with your time and manage your priorities. I did this for the last two years of my BS and then for my MBA. It was tough....but you can do it!!!
