Admittedly I don't know much about Formula 1 racing; however, I do know about how to research a subject and in particular a business. And that's the first thing to never lose sight of. All professional racing is by its very definition an industry made up of a set of businesses. So, if you want to be an F1 driver you have to treat it as a profession. Research all you need to know about gaining experience. You can start with online simulators that will help you get familiar with controls, terminology, basics of tracks and maneuvers. You can move up to full size simulators that are available at some arcades and professional driving schools but realize there are costs associated. For real-world training it's suggested to start with karting. Find a go-kart track near you and try it out. When you've developed some proficiency, you can enter competitions and junior single-seat races. Build your network of contacts from people you meet at the tracks and competitions. From there you can find racing schools or young driver programs. You will need to build license points to eventually become a qualified driver, this includes passing a knowledge test and competing in FIA sanctioned races on approved tracks. Importantly you will want to learn about the business of F1 racing. The International Automobile Federation (FIA) fia.com is the governing body for F1 racing. From there you can find local member organizations. You also need to learn about racing teams and how they select their drivers - mostly they will be looking for up and coming talent that can win races while operating the vehicles safely. Finally, since racing is a business, keep an eye out for other opportunities for a career in F1 racing. There are lots of jobs on racing teams, engineering, technology, track and facility management, hospitality, marketing, finance, etc.
