What tips do you give to students who are majoring in zoology?
I am majoring in zoology this fall and am interested in more insight from others pursuing that career.

Zoology is a field that's more about the love for the subject than the monetary rewards. The work can be challenging, messy, and irregular at times. Take some time to reflect on your motivations and goals. Why are you drawn to zoology? What type of job are you hoping to land with this degree? Explore various career paths. Sometimes, we become so focused on a single job that we overlook other options that could be more exciting or suitable for us. Be ready for a significant amount of math and research-oriented tasks. Depending on the programs you opt for, you might find yourself spending more time in a lab than in the field. So, if your aim is to work directly with animals, seek out courses in animal husbandry.
