Nikolaos’s Answer
Hi Ben,
That's a great question. I will start by saying that success and kindness are deeply intertwined, so it's important to cultivate empathy by genuinely listening to others and valuing their perspectives.
When it comes to dedication, it stems from aligning your actions with your passions and values, creating a clear vision of your goals, and breaking them into manageable steps. Additionally, it's equally important to embrace a growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities to learn rather than obstacles.
Remember, true success is not just measured by accomplishments, but by the positive impact you have on those around you. Try to be persistent, patient, and always lead with compassion.
Hope that helps!
Best regards,
Nikolas

Hello!
Firstly please know as scary and uncertain as college may seem and like the end all be all for adulthood life, everyone’s journey looks different and is not always going to look one certain way. There will be challenges and rewards along the way what matters is your consistency with whatever you set your mind to! Key words here are drive, routine and consistency.
I would say find the things that youngerl most passionate about and use that as a driving force in setting goals and routines. Researching, doing internships, creating schedules and staying involved will help you structure what your game plan for accomplishing goals will look like!
Building connections through opportunities and networking will also serve as a great tool. Alot of the time it is people skills and connections that open doors and the dedication and routine that allows for follow through and accomplishment.
Something I try to implement daily is the idea that a majority of success comes from your mindset and the rest of it is routines consistency and the work you put in! You got this.
Best of luck!

Hello Ben,
I encourage you to embark on a journey of self-discovery to unearth what truly ignites your passion. To truly make an impact, it's essential that you find joy and enthusiasm in your work or set a goal that you're eager to achieve. This will not only fuel your motivation but also ensure that you wake up each day with a sense of excitement for what's to come.

Dear Ben,
Start by establishing routines and habits. Incorporate small tasks into your daily routine. Gradually increase the number of tasks you undertake each day, and strive to enhance their quality. Ensure that most of these tasks are long-term oriented rather than short-term. This approach will foster your personal growth and lead to daily accomplishments.
Remember, consistency is key to success. So, always engage in activities that you enjoy and can sustain over time, regardless of how much you've already accomplished. These activities should also promise substantial future benefits. This way, you'll stay motivated and continue to make progress.

Start by figuring out what makes you tick! Truly tap into what makes you happy. Remember being successful is not about tangible or physical things, but what truly makes you happy. Understand there will be setbacks, or hurdles, but through hard-work, determination, and perseverance, you can do anything you set your mind to do!

Hi Ben!
That is such a great question to have, especially as a student. I think some of the greatest advice that I have been given is to read. Read about anything and everything for an hour at least a day. It will help you learn so much and allow you think differently about things to help you grow and be successful. If you don't like reading, audiobooks and podcasts are great too! I recommend Spotify if you don't have it already - it has so many podcasts and lots of great audiobooks too. When I was just getting into my career, I listened to podcasts related to my job (data science) and it gave me confidence, ideas, and encouragement to keep growing. Just type in whatever you want to do and learn about in Spotify and it will give you lots of books and podcast ideas!
Another thing that will make you successful is your connections. You would be surprised what connections can bring you (and being nice can get you even more!) I recently volunteered my time and knowledge of data with a non profit and got multiple connections from it. I also posted something about a new business on Facebook and someone brought me my first client through a connection. Don't underestimate the power of just asking and you can start with the connections you already have - friends, family, friends of family, a professor, or even someone you find on LinkedIn (a LinkedIn account is another thing that will be super beneficial in your success).
With being kind, the easiest thing I can think of that I do is to put yourself in the other person's shoes. Think about how you would feel if you were them and what you can do to make their situation just a little bit better or easier. A smile goes a long way as well! The fact that you are asking how to be nice means you are likely already more than half way there - because you are aware of it :)
I wish you the best of luck in your success!

Ben, well I have to say your desire to be nice and successful is already one step in the right direction.
I largely thing that this question focuses around perspective. If you have the right perspective you’ll somehow accomplish both.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen jerks be successful and nice people be unsuccessful. Never group deserved what they got. That’s not how you go about it. You have the right idea.
If you’re able to, I recommend you watch the 2014 Commencement speech by ADM William McRaven at The University of Texas. This is a video I watch atleast once a year. It’s about how you can change the world and it starts by making your bed. It sounds crazy until you watch the video.
This is just a nice guy but also a warrior in the military and he teaches you about success while being nice in the process.
I’ll close by saying, you have to be nice to yourself first. It’s starts with you. It’s easier to be nice and when you are nice to yourself!

Hi Ben,
Being successful is not only about material things but having mental toughness about your niche and also impacting others' life.
Identify and define you want to achieve then start to develop a plan towards it.
Also, make sure you're willing to put in the time and effort required to reach your goals.
Keep doing your goals consistently, there will be setbacks along the way, but successful people keep going.
Lastly, Treat others with respect and be willing to help others.
