Thank you for your question. Have you thought about what your dream career is? You dream career is the career you have interest.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest, eg your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc and identify the related careers
Eg if you like music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical artist, music composer, music producer, etc
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counselor, your parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges

As mentioned, you are starting to frame the questions at an early age that will help you in the long run. To me , the more important part is that you place emphasis on the fundamentals of math, reading comprehension and the sciences. At this point you know you will have many questions as you grow but having a good foundation will ensure you are focused on questions that you want to know more about versus questions that you are already capable of answering yourself. Reading gives you insight to some of the same questions you have that others have had that you can answer by comparison to the experiences you are reading about. Math and science help you organize your thoughts logically so you can better form the questions. Good luck, but I don't think you will need luck. You are already on the right path.

There's no time like now. I would recommend however that you make a high level plan of what it is you want to do. You don't have to pick a role or career just yet, but I would strongly advise to at least start thinking about the industry you would be interested in or the kind of work you would like to do. For example: Managerial, Software Development, Communications, Analytics, Marketing, Journalism, Medical etc. Just know that you can do any kind of work at virtually any kind of company. For example: Journalism at JP Morgan and Chase (even if JPMC is a financial institution/bank). As such, understanding what kind of work you would like to do is paramount.

When it comes to the college you should go to/aim for, I only have one thing to say: There is no limit to what you can aim for academically, however when it comes to the financial aspect: Go to a school that you can afford. There is nothing quite like graduating debt-free or with as little debt as possible.

Starting from the ground up, taking a minor step often feels more achievable. More importantly, beginning with modest actions is a wise strategy. It's not advisable to invest a huge sum in a franchise or enroll in an extensive course when you're still unsure of your exact needs and desires. You don't require a significant amount of time or money to kick off, especially if you initiate with manageable actions.

I think aiming to be better tomorrow that you were today will help you keep moving towards what you want in life. A little secret is that most people aren't really sure what they want to do. Take advantage of clubs, opportunities to learn and focus on your grades. Those things may not help you find your purpose, but they can hinder your growth if you let them slip.

There is no right time to start working towards a dream career! If you continue to find things you are passionate about, your dream career might come naturally. Maybe talk to a counselor to see when the right time to take the ACT is for you!
