Aric’s Answer

Hello Ivory,

That's an excellent question! Fred's response is indeed accurate, but perhaps you're seeking to delve into some high school courses before stepping into college? Prior to college, it's necessary to compile a robust portfolio of work to showcase to architecture schools during your application process. This is where certain classes can assist you in crafting an impressive portfolio.

Consider enrolling in photography or art classes that cover various mediums such as watercolors, oils, pastels, charcoal, pencil, and so on. These courses will not only foster your creativity but also demonstrate your interest and talent.

Moreover, a solid foundation in mathematics and strong communication abilities are equally crucial. Architecture schools are keen to witness your creativity and passion. Best of luck with your future choices! You're on the right path, and I believe in your potential.

Fred’s Answer

Many universities have a school or department of architecture. You should be able to mouse around on the school's website and see what courses are required. I am not plugging my university, or their architecture program - I am just familiar with their site and now how to find this:

https://samfoxschool.wustl.edu/academics/college-of-architecture

Other schools should have similar pages/sites where you can find all the info you need on a program, or how to ask them questions.
