Hi Happiness!
What is art? Art to me at least, is making something that moves you. You know when you really really like a TV show? Or a movie? And you want to express it in some way? I used to feel that way about comic books, and i would stay up and draw Batman, and robin and all different comic characters, and it would give me this feeling of pride knowing I could express my love for something by making it. As long as it felt good to me, and I liked doing it, it was art.
The funny thing is, art can mean something different to someone else too. Maybe it's making a friendship bracelet for someone you really care about, or a card you make for the holiday. It can all be an expression of love, meaning, and gives you a feeling of happiness. To me that's art.
You can make a career out of art but really letting yourself love it. Draw as much as possible, even on the days you feel like you aren't drawing as well. Make crafts, try different materials. As many days, as many hours, try try try. The most important thing you can do is not let anyone make you feel like art is a silly job. If this is important to you, you will find your way there. With practice, patience, and trying to get to know other people in the art world, you will make it.
I hope you create, I hope you create as much as you can and you get a feeling of happiness from it. As long as at the end of the day, you are proud of what you make, you can be an artist, and a successful one at that.

Hello, Happiness !
Good question ! Art is in the eye of the beholder.
If one includes all the forms and genres within the subject of Art, one can simply define it as Self Expression. Most of all, Art is what you as an individual perceive it to be. Having a personal discovery with art is important because it will provide you with motivation and creativity which is essential in becoming a professional Artist.
I would advise that you explore art more because you will have to know what art is, your own definition and sense, before you would have enough direction to take the steps that could lead you to become a professional Artist. One way that you can do this is at your own current school. Take an Art class. Start doing instead of wondering. There are many forms of art so until you graduate high school, try various mediums and types of art. Consult your guidance counselor about classes that offer hands on overview of doing several forms of art. I had a class like this in high school and it was called Studio Art.
Besides exploring Art in high school, one of the best ways to establish yourself in an artist group of like-minded people is to enroll in college as an Art major. It is there that you will receive classroom learning as well as projects to do. Many colleges provide the students with opportunities to show their work in Art Shows, Campus Art Galleries and often times let students know about opportunities off campus, too. So, although a college degree is not always necessary to be an Artist, it's helpful to make the contacts, have challenging projects and exposure for your work. With the Bachelors Degree in Art, you can also possibly have a foot in the door for administrative positions at various Art Venues. I highly recommend doing an academic route if you are serious about becoming professional in the Art world.
Start venturing into some of the Art Venues in Fresno. Go to the Fresno Art Museum frequently. I left a link below for Singulart which lists 27 Art Galleries in Fresno - go to all of them. Get used to art. Pace yourself and enjoy !
Keep in mind that every Artist starts their career in different ways. As you become more familiar with art and while you are in college, you will begin to realize just what path will get you to where you want to be. It is a process and each project you accomplish is a personal success.
I hope that this advice is helpful and I wish you all the best in your Art discoveries !

Hi Happiness,
Great question! For me Art is a diverse field that involves expressing yourself(it can be visual, written, auditory, sensory), art is a form of visual communication, art is a way of entertainment, sometimes art can be a therapy too, art can also provide various kinds of valuable service for example in the form of ux/ui design or animated character for any business or company. Means it can encompass a range of practices like painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, digital art, and more.
To start a career in art:
Identify Your Passion: This is important to give you a direction. Explore different art forms to find what excites you the most. Whether it’s painting, illustration, digital art, or something else, focusing on what you love will keep you motivated.
Build Your Skills:
Take classes, watch tutorials, and practice regularly. This will help you develop your technical skills and artistic style.
Create a Portfolio:
This is also very important to market yourself and get a job. Gather your best work into a portfolio. This is essential for showcasing your abilities to potential clients or employers.
Network: Connect with other artists and professionals in the field. You can post art on ArtStation, Cara, Devient Art also on LinkedIn(good for finding like minded people) . Attend art events, join online communities, and seek out mentorship opportunities.
Market Yourself:
Use social media, build a website, and participate in exhibitions or competitions to gain exposure and attract opportunities.
Starting a career in art takes dedication and passion, but with persistence and the right approach, you can turn your artistic talents into a fulfilling profession.
I hope this helps.
Best of luck on your artistic journey!

To start a career in the art field, think about what type of art you are most interested in. Visual arts, performance, theater, museums or something else? Also, are you interested in making art or working with artists to support their work? You can have a thriving career in arts administration, including traditional business functions like finance, marketing, HR and more, which would all allow you to have a career in arts without being an artists yourself.
