TRAVIS’s Answer

Congrats on your Job Corps scholarship. I am not sure about TSA promotion timelines. I would say that if you make your self available to transfer anywhere in the country or world that has TSA openings and promotion opportunities, you will advanced faster. Remember to take all the required and extra trainings offered. Especially leadership trainings. Also make your self available to learn new things and volunteer to help out on your team and that is normally what is looked for in leaders. Remember to never take anything personally on the job. If you can stay professional in the most stressful situations you will go far. Good luck, you will do well.

Kennedy’s Answer

Hi Shawn, good question! The amount of time it takes to get promoted for TSA can vary based on your past experience and evaluation in the role. It would be wise to check in with your supervisor and make sure they know you want to be promoted. That way they can chart a path for what it will take. A lot of times there will be certain requirements, behaviors or achievements that you need to reach/exemplify in order to be promoted.
