Hello,
Congrats on your Job Corps scholarship. I imagine like most shift work, you will be given the less preferable shifts because a lot of the times the more senior staff get to pick first. Your best bet is to find a location to work that has alot of openings. That way you will have more availability to choose from and you will be able to work extra shifts if you want to. Good luck with your Job Corps training. You will do well.

As a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Transportation Security Officer (TSO) starting out, your work hours can vary depending on the airport, shift availability, and staffing needs. Generally, TSOs work in shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as airports operate 24/7. Full-time TSOs typically work around 40 hours a week, but it may be more or less depending on the airport’s schedule. Part-time positions may offer more flexibility but fewer hours. Shifts can range from 8 to 10 hours, and overtime is sometimes required, especially during busy travel seasons. Flexibility is key.
