Hello Prerna,

If IT is our goal, then you are headed in the right direction by taking up computer science in your 12th grade. Your next few years of learning and practice will teach you a lot and will make your ready for the IT industry. So keep learning and do your best.
Once you learn the basics of computer science, I would recommend you to go over some YT videos about coding, computer basics, algorithms, etc so you can make your foundation stronger and when you are ready to find a job, you will be all set.

Good luck!

Justina’s Answer

The purpose of exams is to predict how well you will do in an educational institution's program (e.g., earn As, Bs, Cs, ect.); they do not indicate how well you will perform once you graduate from said program nor how much money you will earn. You can have a career in IT with or without a degree. Instead of a degree you may choose to earn certifications such as through CompTIA (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+, ect) or through a specific vendor such as Cisco or VMware. How much money you make depends upon what area of IT you go into and whether or not you have a degree only, certs only or a degree and certs. Information security tends to be a field in high demand that commands a lot of money whereas help desk has high turn over, lower employee satisfaction and less salaries, yet being a help desk technician is a great way to get your foot in the door of this industry. There is also a demand for IT workers in the pharmaceutical industry - they need to have at least one degree in a biology type major with expertise in computer technology (e.g., a second major in computer science, a systems engineering minor). There are not enough employees with this particular mix of expertise.

Nikhil’s Answer

Hello Perna,

Not everyone can join IITs. There are a lot of successful startup owners who don't hold degree from IITs. Exam will help to get entry into course. Stay focused during courses. It will you help to get job easily at end of course. In IT, there are a lot of opportunities because of emerging technology. Be updated with new technologies of your interest.
