Hi Lisa! I hope this finds you well. Salaries can vary depending on where you live and/or work. With that being said, the national average annual salary for an accountant usually ranges from about 60k-100k. Being an accountant offers many options in terms of employment, you can work for yourself or you can work in the corporate world. Options include being a staff accountant, working in tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, banking, and finance. All offer very good careers and can give you very good financial stability, it would just depend on your preferences and what kind of schedule you want. I hope this helps!

It depends on where you are an accountant and I would assume which field you do accounting. If you are an accountant in DC or NY you will likely make more money than Kentucy, because the cost of living is different. First you need to decide where you'd like to live or what locations you'd consider when deciding how much money you might make. On quick search here is what i found for the accountant salary in NY. I assume it also depends on if you live upstate new york or if you're living in NYC.
