If one is considering the armed forces, should they apply before or after college?

I am considering the armed forces once my studies are over, but am not sure I am going about this in the right order. #college #medicine #military #double-major #forensics #career-advice #expenses

Thank you for your question! I would assume that you should apply for the armed forces before college as they may have programs that may assist you with the cost of college. Consequently, I suggest you look into the armed forces early to find out more details regarding the intake process and if there are some benefits in assisting with paying for college. If you can get help with college payments and be into the armed forces, that's a win-win situation! Good Luck!

I would say, you need to determine what your long term goals are and how you wish to pay for college. From the previous suggestions and my experience with my own kids when they looked into ROTC and the military paying for college, etc, you should decide on the branch and if you can do ROTC or how it works with the Branch to pay for college and what things you need to do or qualify for or achieve or pass.

Honestly the biggest factors are going to be cost and what you want to enlist as. If you do college first you can enlist as an officer, if you enlist first there are programs that will pay for your college. I personally enlisted first to get assistance with college while I was in the Navy and I am glad I did it that way.
