First, find out from your parents why they want you to go into medical?

Do they feel like you have a special caring knack and have always had compassion for those who are sick? Did you have medical issues when you were younger, that made you have to deal with a lot of medical professionals, so you grew to idolize them, and you parents see that you always wanted to emulate your heroes? Is there a family tradition of medical professionals?

I'm not saying do what your parents tell you, but I am saying listen deeply and strive to understand what they want for you and why they want it. Then weigh that carefully with the other choices. Perhaps you can achieve what they want for you and still do the kind of work you are best suited for.

Second, Understand why you like robotics so much? Have you always taken apart things to see how they worked? Have you always built things and made them work? Do you have a special knack for programming software? These questions are trying to help you discover what you are well suited for.

Finally, you need to find out what careers you are well suited for based on your personality type and your strengths.

There are two resources that I recommend to help you figure out the types of careers you should go into. One is the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). This measures how you (as a person) take in information, how you process it, and how you output it. People who do well in the medical profession fit into certain categories of personality types. Robotics designers (engineers) are very different. A good book to read about this is Do What You Are: Discover the Perfect Career for You Through the Secrets of Personality Type by Paul D. Tieger and Barbara Barron-Tieger. Your school career center may know how you can take the MBTI assessment, and may be able to provide help in interpreting it. Even without taking the assessment, the book can give you a good idea of the personality type you have, and you can read about the kinds of careers that people with that personality type do well in.

The other resource is Strengths Finder 2.0 a book by Tom Rath, published by the Gallup Organization. The cost of the assessment is built into the cost of the book, so if you get a used one, be sure it has an unused access code. The basic idea of this book is that you come into the world with certain strengths, and it won't make much difference on how hard you work on your weaknesses, you will get a lot more results by putting the same effort into working with your top five strengths. Page 9 says, "You cannot be anything you want to be, but you can be a lot more of who you already are. " It does not give as much advice about what careers to choose, but if your strengths are different from those that are supportive of medical (or of robotics) you should look elsewhere for a career.

If you ask me, I'll suggest you to chose the path you feel you can do good. If you feel confident that you can go far at robotics, go ahead. It is not about what others want, it is simply about what you can chase for. Trust yourself, trust your guts, trust your subconscious... It will definitely make you successful.
