Make a schedule and plan out your day, including classes, homework, extracurricular activities, and free time. Prioritize tasks and focus on the most important tasks first and tackle them during your most productive hours. Take breaks and schedule short breaks between tasks to rest your mind and avoid burnout. Eliminate distractions and find a quiet study space, turn off your phone, and avoid social media during study time. Stay organized and use a planner or calendar to keep track of deadlines and upcoming assignments.

The most important things to you should be prioritized high on the list. I presume this will be schoolwork and studying. Make sure that you give yourself time to do those things every school night (or afternoon) and as much time as needed on weekends. Consider if you have a test coming up or assignment that you're working on/due. However, when you first come home from school and on weekends, holidays, and vacations give yourself some time for fun, being alone (if you value that), and family. If you're struggling in a class or classes give more time to studying and less to other things (but still take some time for other things).
Determine when you want to study and do schoolwork (before or after dinner)
Figure out how much time you will need for each of these on school nights and at least some time one day per weekend, more if a test or assignment is due
Start a schedule with the studying as the first items on it
Add time for fun, family, and perhaps alone time
Check that this looks realistic before implementing it. Modify as needed.
Steven recommends the following next steps:
You can manage your time by prioritizing by deadline or urgency. Multi-tasking can be a great skill to have. Just remember not to leave everything til the last minute.

I've been out of high school for a bit but for me I tried to get my homework done in class if I had time or right after school if I didn't have an activity so that I had the rest of my evening to myself. That was the best way for me to prevent procrastination.
Now I'm in graduate school and I just have a mental calendar so a planner might be helpful.

Hi Kimberly,
As a current high school senior this is something that I still struggle with, whether it's procrastinating assignments or even feeling like you do n to have enough time in the day to get things done. However, to alleviate this when juggling things like classes, extracurriculars, jobs, etc I find that the best thing to do it use (as tedious as it may sound) a planner or the https://www.notion.so app/website.
Using notion daily, I plan by week what assignments I would like to get done on what day, the date they are due, exam dates, and school meetings/appointments throughout the week. I recommend to only use it on school so you are not overcrowding your schedule but rather laying everything out, that way all you do is focus on "tuesday's tasks."
I also recommend setting important dates in your phone calendar, such as family trips, work schedule, etc that way you have all dates in one place. Lastly, set reminders! Not enough people utilize their reminder app (at least on iPhone). This comes in clutch because as someone who has many things to focus on at once, you do not have to worry about possibly forgetting to "schedule your appt." or "pay class fee"
Finally, relax!
I say take Sundays to reset, that way you can create a new schedule for each week and go into Monday with a plan of what needs to get done day by day!

Hello Kimberly,
I've found setting reminders on my phone to be helpful. I set them ahead of time so I have enough time to work on an assignment or project. I also set reminders for the deadlines so I don't forget to submit them.
I hope this helps.
