What are your inspirations?

Sometimes I find it hard to think of creative ideas, so I want to have some inspiration. So far I have thought of getting inspiration by walking outside, but at this point, I think I have gotten all the inspiration I could have gotten from walking outside.

Michael’s Answer

Hi David,

Sometimes it's the focusing on trying to be inspired that can actually stunt us from getting inspired. I've found, in my experience, that inspiration can come at anytime, and that trying to specifically go out and find inspiration can make me feel more stressed and even frustration that I'm not feeling inspired. It's okay to not feel inspired at times. It's important, though, to understand how inspiration comes to you when you do feel inspired. It can potentially help you understand where it comes from. If you want to try out different ways to try and find inspiration, I would experiment with different ways to help you. Here are some suggestions:

1. Shake Up Your Routine - Do something different you don't normally do. Sometimes doing the same thing over again can hinder us from thinking differently.
2. Make Time to Rest - Make sure you're getting enough sleep and taking care of yourself. It helps clear your mind.
3. Try Free Journaling - Sometimes just writing down whatever in your head can help inspire you. It might feel weird at first, but sometimes getting everything out can clear your head.

Hope this helps!

Andrew’s Answer

I was inspired by my older brother. You might want to look at people in your life that "make a difference" and take a closer look at what they do and how they do it. My older brother joined the Army and went on to save other peoples lives and free people that were living in danger. That inspired me to join as well. I did not save anyones life, but I met awesome people and worked on projects to improve their lives. I found an interest in helping others and today I work in a training department of an important company and get to help people make that first step into their careers. Look for inspiration in the people making a difference in your life!

EDNA’s Answer

Hello, it is unfortunate to run short of inspiration. Just Like Kathryn shared, inspiration is found every where. Create blocks of time where you are by yourself, with no distractions. Sit and breathe. Think about the pleasant and unpleasant things you have experienced. Think about what you would have done different and you will find inspiration.

Kathryn’s Answer

Inspiration comes from everwhere, walking, reading, TV, people - the list is endless. Think of inspiration a little differently - maybe like a passion you have for something. Write down something that makes you sad, mad or angry about the world today. Now - if you could fix that tomorrow, how would you do it? Now - is this something you feel you really have a voice/opinion on? If so, what types of groups/organizations exist for this passion should you need/want more information? Find out how can you participate. Hopefully this will lead you to the inspiration you are looking for.
