Richard J (Rich)’s Answer
This is a very interesting question - in general I truly admire anyone who shows a complete dedication to the work, gives it 110% to get the job done, and cares for other people.
There is a particular group I admire the most - and that is our "single parent" community. Whether it was in the military or in the civilian world - our single parents have a lot of responsibility and they handle it well. They are the most organized, efficient and dedicated individuals I have ever met. Of course, I have have worked with more single moms then dads - and these mom's just wow me every day. We all have to respect their situation and the way they manage their lives. In most cases, their lives also come without complaint and they do all they can to "get the job done" either at work or at home.
So, who you admire is not necessarily someone of authority or someone famous - it is really those you work with every day.

I admire the people who persevere. I work for a large company with a lot of talent collected in different pools. Because of this, when the opportunity to promote happens, limited amounts of people are able to progress. Rather than give up and go find something else to do, the people I look up to are the ones who find a way to learn from rejection, recalibrate and make another attempt. Learning from your mistakes in one thing; capitalizing on them to grow yourself is a whole different ball game.

I admire many people I work with today as well as people I worked with in the past but as I think about these people, there are some common traits that come to mind.
The one common trait is all are people who are/were genuinely engaged in our professional relationship and gave 100+% to their job. They are honest, candid and trustworthy, interested in collaborating to develop a mutually beneficial outcome. They told me what I needed to hear, not necessarily what I wanted to hear, because they had a genuine interest in helping me be better as a leader, peer, co-worker and person. They operated with integrity and respect.
To me, these are the people who have the most influence on my life.

I truly admire individuals who possess the incredible ability to navigate through life's challenges with grace and determination. Their resourcefulness and problem-solving skills are truly inspiring. I find it also commendable when someone can communicate their thoughts in an eloquent, yet clear and direct manner. These qualities truly reflect the remarkable strength and resilience of the human spirit!

I admire the people who are brave and take risks! They are the ones who are not afraid to fail - the ones who see failure not as a negative, but as an opportunity to learn and grow.
