This depends on a number of factors. Career field, location, experience and willingness to negotiate. I would say experience is lower on the list of reasons to get a higher wage in comparison. With 3 years of experience as a ground support equipment mechanic, I was making upwards of $35 an hour, at 24 years old in Florida. I can’t stress this enough — gain proficiency, not necessarily experience, just proficiency, and negotiate your salary.
