Katie’s Answer

I am also a German major who studied abroad in Berlin and then had a follow on Fulbright teaching scholarship to Potsdam. If you have any interest in sustainability / cleantech / climate policy, Germany is at the forefront of much of that. I have not used my German language skills in my day to day career all that much, but I have industry colleagues who have worked for German solar companies, had German policy fellowships, etc. I have also worked with many Germans and found my cultural fluency to be very helpful. More broadly, the soft skills you will have from living in a foreign country are immensely valuable in any customer-facing or cross-functional role. Best of luck to you!
