Patrick’s Answer

I may not be an automotive engineer, but as a manufacturing engineer, I've had an amazing journey. After completing my master's degree in engineering, I dove straight into my career at a manufacturing facility that operated non-stop, 24/7. Witnessing the creation of various products, from clothes to phones to cars, was an eye-opening experience. It made me appreciate the intricate manufacturing processes behind every item we use.

If you're passionate about enhancing processes to make them safer, higher quality, faster, more cost-effective, and efficient, I highly recommend pursuing a career as a manufacturing engineer. This path also opens doors to explore other fields, such as design, research and development, and leadership roles.

Personally, I find immense satisfaction in tackling the challenge of improving long-established processes, some of which have been around for decades. Additionally, collaborating with diverse individuals, including operators, team members, and fellow engineers, is a rewarding aspect of the job. So, go ahead and embrace the exciting world of manufacturing engineering!
