How do I study abroad or go to boarding school without funds?

I would like to do my studies away from home for a while. I don't know how to get scholarships or grants. I have always loved to explore since I didn't get to leave the house much when I was younger. I might qualify for financial aid but that still may make it a bit hard. I would like to have primary coverage or full cover. I want to explore architectural design as well as forensic scenes, criminology, criminal profiling, Cooking, and linguistics. I like freedom but that doesn't mean that I won't listen to rules. I have a GPA of 3.5 and going into my sophomore year of high school.

Hi Elizabeth
First and foremost, you have to narrow your interests, seek a line that you are passionate about.
From your GPA I can see that you are hard working, keep your GPA high and start applying for out of state colleges that fulfill your dreams.
Higher education institutions normaly look for those who have high GPA and are passionate with clear vision towards what they want to pursue. By having these qualities you might just get a scholarship
Hope you well

Hi Elizabeth!

A great way to study abroad is through a college/university study abroad program. Most colleagues and universities offer such programs over a wide range of topics, interests, and majors.

Once you've identified a program that sparks your interest, ask the study abroad department for information on grants/scholarships specifically for your program of choice. Many of these programs have funds set aside to help fund student expenses in the form of grants that the student would need to apply for. Depending on the cost of the program, the grant could cover up to half of the expense.

In addition to that, consider starting a GoFundMe and share it with friends and family members. Share with them why you're interested in studying abroad, details about your program and what you'll gain from it. You can set a fundraising goal and they can donate to you directly via the platform. You can also consider sharing the link to your GoFundMe on social media - you'll be amazed on what "internet friends" will support!
