Katie’s Answer

I think a large part of this is uncovering what your true motivations are. For example, some people think opportunities for upward mobility (promotions) will fulfill them. When in reality, they discover the next level (Manager, Director, VP) up is an entirely different job from what they were doing and doesn't actually increase job satisfaction. Be honest with yourself about what doesn't align with your values even if society values it, that doesn't mean you need it to be happy. Maybe work life balance is really what matters most, so rule out careers that would require excessive overtime and long work weeks. You can take personality tests (DISC, Predictive Index) to better understand what will keep you energized and excited at work as well as areas that might not serve you!

Latisha’s Answer

This is a truly insightful question. Striking a healthy balance between work and personal life is absolutely crucial, in my view. It's admirable to strive for excellence in your current role, but it's equally vital to nurture your passions outside of your professional sphere. It's completely natural to occasionally feel overwhelmed or unsatisfied with your present job. As we evolve and grow, our career aspirations may shift, and that's perfectly fine. Think about a career that not only aligns with your interests but also suits your personality. If you find that your current role no longer brings you satisfaction, consider exploring options for advancement or alternative ways to apply your skills. For instance, I work as a therapist, but if I ever feel unfulfilled in this role, I might consider teaching psychology at a university level or mentoring budding therapists at the start of their careers. Throughout my career journey, I've transitioned between roles several times for a variety of reasons.

Sony’s Answer

Motivation is the key factor impacts the quality of work and your overall professional journey.

Each individual has different motivation factors. eg: Money, Power, recognition, Passion and impact you bring to community/customers. find out which of these motivate you and focus on them.

if you have done something for so many years, find ways to do the same work differently/ efficiently. You can mentor other individuals with your experience. You can also try a different role in your organization

Surround yourself with enthusiastic and supportive people who celebrate your success and remind you how much you have accomplished
Stay Positive and focus on best part of your role . Think about the challenges you faced in the beginning of your career, once viewed as difficulties but now you see them as experiences.. it amazes how far you have come.. Cheers!

Christina’s Answer

Discover a passion outside of your job that fuels your drive to excel at work. Align your financial strategies with your career objectives, and strive to achieve them in a systematic manner. Understand that each job and each day will present its own unique challenges. We all have our difficult days, but remember, you're not alone. You have colleagues to lean on when things get tough. In every role, there's someone either above or beside you, ready to help you maintain a positive attitude and keep striving towards your next goal. Don't let minor issues weigh you down, and remember, there will always be tasks that need your attention. Most importantly, don't forget to take care of yourself so you can perform at your very best!

Brendon’s Answer

Start by finding out what you want to do with your time. Do you want to be physical in your job, do you have some skills you can develop, will you need to save money to travel to the best place for your career, etc. Use that as a way to plan for your future. Most importantly, make sure you enjoy your future choice. People often say that "If you love your job, you'll never work a day in your life". Try to find the path that makes you feel that way, and of course take care of yourself while you're at it.
