Judith-Ann’s Answer
Aniya, a day in the life of this mental health counselor is absolutely fulfilling. I start the day with coffee and answering emails and texts and dealing with some billing issues, occasionally. ( I partner with a billing company that does the billing for insurance clients and it's made my life so much easier.). After this admin work, I take a few moments to meditate and listen to something inspirational. I start seeing clients around noon, usually back to back until 6 or so 3-4 days a week. Seeing each client is a unique and special time with each dear soul that enters my virtual office. I truly treasure these moments spent with each client. I feel honored to be entrusted with their mental health concerns, and I do my very best to listen, and hold them in warm personal regard without judgement.

Progress notes, engagement, benefits, treatment, recovery where to begin I work for a non-profit that provides behavioral health services and a lot of what we do is centered around what are patients feel is necessary. A clients right to self determination is key, we don’t encourage, we often don’t even recommend things but we try to use the least restrictive setting. Confidentiality is key, being careful to not be a breach of PHI is paramount because as a provider you will be liable.
