Hi Mac,
Dietitians work in many areas of the healthcare system, including hospitals (inpatient, and outpatient), longterm care centers, the WIC program ( The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children which is an American federal assistance program), dialysis centers, and private practice. If you are interested in sports nutrition, I would look into Nancy Clark, RD who has worked as a sports nutritionist for many years and is also an author of several books, including The Sports Nutrition Guidebook. Her website is nancyclarkrd.com

Hi Mac, I'm delighted to provide you with information and guidance.
A sports nutritionist's main role is to guide athletes on proper nutrition to fuel their bodies, thereby enhancing their performance. They need to comprehend how food impacts the human body. These specialists delve into the specifics of what types and quantities of food and fluids an athlete should intake.
They also research the specific nutrients that are crucial for athletes participating in different sports. It's their responsibility to devise a balanced diet based on the athlete's daily calorie needs. They should be adept at balancing the athlete's consumption of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.
For anyone aspiring to become a sports nutritionist, a bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field is required. Popular degree choices include sports nutrition, dietetics, nutrition science, and sports science.
I hope this information proves useful and answers some of your queries. For more details on nutrition and dietetics, feel free to reach out to me personally or via LinkedIn.
