What are ways to interact with international students online for free?
I am interested in studying in Germany. Are there any free online exchange programs or volunteering/internship organizations that can improve my German skills or help me learn about Germany or just get some experience in German-based work? (Or other countries?)

There are great opportunities online. Look for language exchange platforms, like Tandem or HelloTalk, to connect with international students and improve your German. Websites like Coursera or edX offer free courses about Germany and its culture. Also, consider volunteering for global organizations like AIESEC, they offer experiences to learn and work in different countries. Just keep exploring and taking chances – you'll expand your horizons.

Hi Anandita,
Love to read that you are interested in learning German. German is my native language so I never had to learn it myself but I found apps and online platforms such as Duolingo and Tandem great when learning other languages - although I found they only too me so far.
My university in Germany had an international office that would have helped to host international students in Germany and I worked in their office which helped me to build my network internationally and meet people from other countries. Maybe there are international students in your school or university you can connect with?
The Goethe Institute is a pretty well regarded institution for studying German and they have representations all over the world - looks like they have one in Atlanta as well! I know a good few people who took language classes there and really liked it and since it's a German institution they usually are well informed about scholarships, schools etc!
You could also try your luck in a facebook group (maybe search for something like Germans in Atlanta) - expats who live abroad sometimes have meet ups and groups so you might be able to locate some native speakers nearby!
