Hi, hope all is well. I just wanted to give you a piece of my advice. The first thing I think you should do is sit down with literally a piece of paper and pen, it makes you feel more connected to what you are writing. On this list write pro's and con's of what you top three career choices are right now. This will give you a better perspective. Also, i have mentioned this in other post but I find it to be a great website. It is called O*NET and it is managed by the US Labor department. Not only are there valid statistics on each career but there are quizzes that legit help you figure out what you want to do. Here is one link that help you get started. It is real easy to find what you need after you start. https://www.mynextmove.org/explore/ip

Stacy recommends the following next steps:

Get pen and paper
write down three top careers that interest you
then write the pros and cons
Go to the website above and ONET

James Constantine’s Answer

Are you pursuing the right career? Is it providing you with a decent living wage or is it falling short? Striving for job satisfaction is important. Surely, it would be beneficial to assess your skills. Maybe you're great at using computers, or perhaps you excel in sports like cricket, tennis, golf, or swimming. Alternatively, you might have a knack for understanding laws. It's crucial to identify your strengths and the type of people you enjoy interacting with on your journey. Imagine the colleagues you might enjoy working with, or envision yourself leading a board meeting at a major company like McDonald's. You have the potential to achieve great things!

Rebecca’s Answer

Thank you for your question. You are the best to answer this question. You are the one who know what you have interest.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think what you have interest, eg your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc. and identify the related careers
Eg if you like music, would you like to be a singer, musician, musical artist, music producer, music composer, etc
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, banker, engineer, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your parents, mentor, school career counsellors, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in the colleges
Bear in mind your interest may change throughout your life, you may change your career
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Enise’s Answer

Hello Ella,

I would say it is difficult to know which route will be the best for you. But I can guarantee you that you can achieve your goals after few comments from many friends out there, or even here. You have to have your career plan (it will be your easy steps and possible route for your career, and you can track your progress with to do list, check deadlines on your calendar, and create a timetable for your future progression). You have to follow your career path plan as you requested.
In terms of your career, it depends on your mood, your choice, and your career journey. Every journey brings us through the adventure, and wish to chase our dreams or wishes; but chasing our dreams can be challenging for our expectations. You may be disappointed if you fail; fortunately it is not the end of the world!
You can achieve your goals if you do your job seriously. In order to be successful in your career route, you must discover your talent, passion, and interest. If you follow your career plan, you can see your progression (as well as your to do list, calendar, and timetable - they are not only important to track your progression, it is additionally something that will become your routine due to life conditions). You will be aware of when you follow career path (extracurricular activities: volunteering-internship-part-time and full-time), you may ser how you devrlop your soft and hard skills as well as emotional intelligence.
You should follow your gut and believe in yourself. You should balance your emotions or I would say psychologic situation; because you will frequently be up and down in any situations that you expected.

Best Wishes.

Judith-Ann’s Answer

Hello, Ella. The simple answer to your question is you will know if you continue to stay in it and the roadblocks are only challenges for you. In the final analysis we don't know until we try it. So how do you know whether you should try it? Well, it helps to have a genuine interest in what you choose, a good aptitude for it, an IQ that matches your desires. I used to jokingly say I wanted to be quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. That would never work because I didn't have the aptitude or the skills to be a professional football player. I was really interested in a music performing career with a goal to sing on Broadway. I enrolled in the school of music, studied and practiced well and became a proficient musician and singer. As I approached going to NY to live, I ran into roadblocks which led to diverting my path to ways to stay in Texas and pursue a career that fit my personality and skills and fulfilled my desire to perform. I continued on that path until making a living as a musician became too much of a struggle. So I went to my other choice to become a therapist because it allowed me time to pursue my music performance career without the stress of making a living as a musician. I can honestly say both journeys have given me great pleasure and purpose. I love being a therapist as it totally fulfills my purpose.of having to help someone in a meaningful way. I love being a musician as it fulfills my creative desires to give people a reason to smile. All this to give you an example of how I pursued my interests and followed the opportunities afforded me until it didn't work. As a way to get started for you, I suggest reading the book "What Color is Your Parachute?" https://www.amazon.com/What-Color-Your-Parachute-Meaningful/dp/1984861204/ref=sr_1_1?crid=IP7YDNQOTIUZ&key

It will give you great questions to help you decide directions and meaning for your career. Good luck to you on your new adventures!

Brianna’s Answer

My grandpa always told me if you feel like it is work over 60% of the time, it is time to find something new. You should feel invigorated to have a career that fulfills you. If you dread going in, go somewhere else. Trust your gut, and don't settle!

Brianna recommends the following next steps:

Know you will make mistakes, and your career now doesn't have to be your end goal
Some jobs are a means to get somewhere better
Your happiness and health is more important than any job

James Constantine’s Answer

Isn't it a wonderful feeling to return home after a day's work, knowing that you've done something truly worthwhile? Imagine having an employer who appreciates your efforts, nourishes your spirit with kind words, and treats you with respect. It's our responsibility to assist others in becoming self-reliant. Our role is to guide them towards their dreams. Professions like nursing and medicine can indeed be challenging, but consider the incredible impact you're making. You're saving lives, preventing diseases, and providing critical care. So, how do you choose what brings you joy? You don't want to end your day feeling upset, frustrated, or unresolved. Instead, you should aim to feel content and fulfilled, knowing that you've put in a solid day's work.
