Hi Cedric,
When trying to find jobs in high school, it is best to leverage local companies and stores. If you have any connections, you can ask for help applying or simply walk in, introduce yourself, and ask for an application. Also leverage online site hiring such as Indeed.
Hope this helps!

Hello Cedric,
Kickstart your search by browsing the internet for job opportunities that align with your location and skills. It's also a good idea to assess your schedule, considering your school work, sports, and other activities, to figure out how much time you can dedicate to a job. Nowadays, there's a plethora of job openings - you might just find the perfect one during a casual stroll around your neighborhood. Don't hesitate to reach out to your circle of friends, neighbors, and teachers as they might have some valuable suggestions for you. Keep your spirit high, and remember, the right job for you is just around the corner!

Great question, I'd say find something that seems fun and if you have friends that are also looking to make money, it's fun to work with people you know as a teenager. Wish you the best!

Great question!
Try to find some remote opportunities! Also look into certain free-lance work that you can begin to build an online portfolio for! If you are interested in coding, photography, video editing, financial modeling, etc. etc. this will be very attractive to an employer!
Try sites like upwork and fiverr as launch pads, but then refine what kind of work you want to be doing! Do you want to work for someone or do you want to start your own business? There are many questions to ask yourself that will lead to you to refining your approach!

Hey Cedric! I understand that landing a job as a teen can seem like a mountainous task, especially when you're also handling school and other activities. Let's start by focusing on what you "need" from a job. For instance, can you easily commute from your house to the workplace? Is the job part-time and can it accommodate your school schedule? Once you've sorted these basic yet crucial aspects, the real journey begins - creating your unique brand. How can you persuade potential employers to choose YOU over others? What's your unique selling point? A great starting point would be to craft a resume that showcases your talents. Even though you're still in high school and don't have any work experience yet, you can highlight your involvement in extracurricular activities like clubs and sports. I hope this guidance lights your path!

Hey Cedric! As a first step to finding a job, I would recommend creating a resume outlining your experiences, school work, and extracurriculars (i.e., clubs, sports, ASB). By creating a resume, you will be able to highlight the skills that you have so far that can be applicable to a role that you'll be applying for. After, I'd look online for any jobs in your area. As you look for potential roles, consider the commute to the job, whether it be from your school or from your home, the flexibility of hours (e.g., what are the potential hours?), the specific requirements, and if the job aligns to your personality and skills. If you're struggling to find any online, I would highly recommend asking your friends, classmates, and even staff. For me, I landed by first job in highschool from asking my friend for any recommendations. I wish you luck on your search!

There is a big demand for customer service workers in retail and restaurants. You could easily find a job in these industries.
You can look for jobs online on sites like Indeed or stop into stores/restaurants in person. Also, check in your school counseling office they sometimes have job postings
Some more fun teen jobs you could look into-
summer camp counselor- Look at YMCA's or local churches
Lifeguard
starting your own business- pet care, yard work, selling items you make online if you are crafty, babysitting/nannying
youth sports referee- I used to be a referee for soccer as a teen and it was about $20 a game
I hope this helps!

When looking for a job as a teen, don't necessarily worry about having the highest paying job or the most fun job. Take on opportunities that will allow you to develop skills and habits that will be beneficial to your actual career. For example, if you work in fast food, make sure to be on time, be able to collaborate with team members, learn how to communicate, etc. These skills can be paramount once you move on to a higher position whether it be in that company or a different one. Just be sure to take something from each of role you are in no matter how big or small it may seem. You will thank yourself later!

You should start by creating a resume for yourself. Although you may have no work experience be sure to include any education you have, volunteering you have done, any sports teams or clubs you are part of, and lastly any skills you have that make you stand out for the job. From there you can start applying in store or online as almost every employer will require a resume. Make sure you look in your local area so that you can easily walk, drive or get a ride to work and make sure that work does not interfere with your schooling.
