Hello Maryam - As a 9th grader, you have a good amount of time to explore your academic and career interests before you will need to commit. If you are interested in STEM fields and health care, you could combine that interest with your love of teaching. For example, you could teach medicine or pharmacology. I would use the next few years to take a variety of rigorous courses, but also explore careers through job shadowing, internships and volunteer work.

LEo’s Answer
Hi Maryam, you should consider the wishes of your parents and pursue your doctoral career. You may eventually start to resent your parents but you will eventually see that they wanted the best for you.
Honor your father and mother.
Pray to the god of your choice.
Pursue a career in medical sciences.
LEo recommends the following next steps:
It is true that parents should be honored and I'm sure they want the best for you, Maryam. You do want to have a career that is aligned with your skills and passions as Vanessa noted. I would also recommend researching the careers that connect with you. Then explain to your parents why you feel the other areas are a better fit for you. I can relate as my parents did not like my initial choice of being a writer. I pursued something else and continued to change careers because it was not aligned with my values and skills. I eventually became a writer. Although it wasn't a straight path, I did learn a lot along the way. Also, keep in mind, the direction you go may change over time as you explore. That is okay!

Hi Maryam, I think that you still have time to think about it as you are a 9th grader, you can focus on joining different groups at school in order to confirm your passion in teaching or maybe know about other different areas that you can be good at as well. I think that you should always follow your passions and reinforce them, at the end you are the one who is going to do the job and if you enjoy it you can make the ones around you feel happy and satisfied.

Hy Maryan, this is a nice question to ask.
I would say to you that being a teacher is one of the most important careers in the word, you can even attend to Med school and than became a Professor in an University.
So What I would do is try to understand my motives abut why I want to teach and what I want to teach, than with that you can choose what to do for your future career.

Hello Maryam,
Have you considered delving deeper into your interest in teaching to determine if it's the right career path for you? You could try volunteering at an after-school program or a youth or community center. This would give you a firsthand experience of the job and help you understand if it excites you. Additionally, you'll get a clear picture of the strengths and skills necessary for the role.

Hello!!!
This is a great question; I would recommend that you always do whatever makes you happy, that you enjoy and that you love.... you will spend almost 8-10 hours daily working on that for the rest of your life, so if you do not enjoy it or like it you won´t be happy and life was made to be happy.
So do whatever you want to do and talk with your parents that is your preference and that you would like to be a teacher because you like and enjoy_______________ and that you would work hard to become the best teacher and impact on a positive way.

Hello Maryam! Picking the ideal career may appear daunting, but bear in mind, every hurdle is a hidden chance waiting to be discovered. The most valuable guidance I can offer is to explore your deepest passions. Pinpoint what genuinely ignites your curiosity. Once you've unearthed that, strive to expand your understanding of it. You might think about observing or engaging in a dialogue with someone who's already established in that sector. Also, remember, compiling a list of advantages and disadvantages can be an excellent strategy to assist you in evaluating your choices. Keep pushing forward, you're capable of amazing things!

Hello Maryam,
This is a tough question because you want to obviously follow your passions, but also want something that will fulfill yourself in the long term in a fulfilling career. You have to think about what is more important to you and what impact you will have on your own career aspirations if you choose to be a doctor. Both are great careers, with doctors requiring much longer training than being a teacher. You still have time to think about it as you are a 9th grader. I'd first focus on high school and doing well there. Picking the right college/major will greatly benefit from having good grades, test scores and doing lots of non-academic activities in high school.
Hopefully this helps!
Best of luck!
Best regards,
Johan

I think trying to figure out your whole life in 9th grade is a little heavy. Use high school to join clubs, explore career fairs and have fun. There are jobs that people have today that didn’t even exist while I was in college.
I think the best you can do is get great grades, be open to exploring and take advantage of what High School has to offer. That can open doors and resources for you next step.

Hello Maryam, choosing a career is a challenge that many individuals struggle with. I see that you're leaning towards teaching, while your parents suggest medicine. You're in a phase of life where you're trying to discover the ideal career for you. Given that you're in the 9th grade, there's plenty of time ahead! In order to identify the career you'd like to pursue, I suggest that during your high school years, you focus on the subjects that captivate your interest the most and participate in extracurricular activities that could help you uncover any passions. This will help you to identify your preferred subjects and explore potential careers related to them. As you conduct research, consider if the job aligns with your personality, the duration of education required, potential earnings, and the overall path to reach there. By reflecting on your experiences and conducting comprehensive research, you'll be able to determine the career path that suits you best. Wishing you all the best on this journey!

Thank you for the question. I am glad to hear you have started to think about your career path now. The most important is to find a career you have interest.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest, eg your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc and identify the related careers, eg
If you like music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical artist, music composer, music producer, etc
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counselor, your parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you have interest
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in the college
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

What a delightful and insightful query! It's crucial to pick a profession that resonates with your hobbies and passions for enduring happiness and achievement. Your forward-thinking approach is commendable! Here are some pointers to guide you through this decision:
Dive into both interests: Keep expanding your knowledge about teaching and medicine to grasp which facets attract you. Gain practical experience by shadowing or volunteering in both areas.
Engage in a dialogue with your parents: Open up about your interests and the reasons behind your inclination towards teaching. Hear out their apprehensions and try to understand their viewpoint.
Spot shared objectives: Talk to your parents about what is most significant to both of you, like aiding others or creating a positive influence. This can assist in finding a mutual understanding.
Evaluate your strong points: Ponder over your abilities and gifts. Teaching and medicine demand different sets of skills. Consider what areas you thrive in and find most enjoyable.
Maintain a receptive attitude: Stay open to the idea of probing into related sectors, such as health education or medical research, which might merge your interests.
Ask for advice: Consult with school counselors, teachers, or mentors in both domains for guidance and valuable insights.
Bear in mind, it's fine to take your time: There's no rush to make a decision. Concentrate on honing valuable skills and delving into your interests. Your career trajectory can progress gradually.
Remember, the choice of a career is a personal matter. It's vital to acknowledge your parents' worries while remaining faithful to your own ambitions. Through exploration and communication, you can discover a path that is in harmony with your passions and principles. Best of luck!

It's a significant decision indeed, but the good news is, you still have ample time to make a well-informed choice. Ultimately, the key to selecting the right career path is to find something that not only brings you joy but also gives you a sense of fulfillment.
Consider your unique talents, skills, and strengths. These are vital indicators of what careers might enable you to truly shine, make a meaningful contribution, and flourish. Additionally, it's crucial to consider whether the career you choose will meet your future financial needs.
